The Simple Things

The simple things in WoW

So this article is about the simple things in WoW that one may forget or not remember. Let me give you an example: One day I was strolling along in Undercity, I can't exactly remember how I got there but regardless of all that I wanted to get to Dalaran. Unfortunately I had already somehow used my Ring of the Kirin Tor, and hearthstone (which I have set to the horde city in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms because of the portals there) and my Garrison hearthstone was also on cooldown. So for the first time in a long time, I actually asked myself "How in the hell do I get to Dalaran?!?"...
So that is where I got the inspiration to make this article and call it 'The simple things in WoW'. I don't really have much to put in this little list I'm compiling quite yet, but I'm hoping that you guys will comment on the small stuff that you might've forgotten. This list can be used by veteran players who might be a tad bit forgetful (like myself) or by the brand spankin' new to the world of Azeroth.

#1 The multiple ways of getting to Dalaran

There are actually a few different ways of getting to Dalaran in the game. The first few methods I'll tell you of are the ones I've already mentioned above. In more detail though of course...
  • Ring of the Kirin Tor:
The ring of the Kirin Tor is by far the easiest (and most expensive) way of getting to Dalaran in-game. They have different prices for the different levels of reputation you may have with the Kirin Tor Faction. They are all over ten thousand gold though, so unless you really have a lot of gold you can spend freely then I wouldn't get this ring. Mainly because its outdated and will serve almost no use to you in pve or pvp currently. Unless you were a level 70 twink or something like that though. Anyway there you go.
  • Setting your Hearthstone to the faction cities in The Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
Since WoD introduced the Garrison, you basically get a second Hearthstone. But this new hearthstone will only transport you to your Garrison on Dreanor. So getting to Draenor is already very easy (No port to Shatt or Dalaran in either Ashran city as far as I can tell though) so you are free to use your other Hearthstone to whatever place you want to. I'm recommending the Pandaria faction cities because in both cities there are portals to all the faction cities. Well you cant port to Orgrimmar from Pandaland if you are an alliance character and vice versa if you are a horde.. so..sorry.... But anyway  not only do they contain ports to all of your factions home cities, the Vale of Eternal Mists cities also have ports to both Shatt and Dalaran in both of them. (Sorry that I can't remember the names of the particular cities in question)

  • Going to Dalaran by way of shipping
So what I mean by this is that both factions have ports somewhere (zepplins in Org if you are Horde and ships in Stormwind Harbor if you are Alliance) that have shipping vessels that will take you to Northrend, and then you fly to Dalaran from either of those ships' destinations'. It takes a few minutes to fly there but if you have no other way then I guess its worth it, if you really really wanted to get to Dalaran that is...

Well that is it currently for this list. I can't really think of anything else to add right now, but I'm sure I'll get all kinds of Ideas from people. Please feel free to leave yours in the comments so we can give this little list more length...

Thank you for reading!

Origin of the Demon Hunters in World of Warcraft

Story and origin of the Demon Hunters in World of Warcraft: Legion

The Demon Hunters of the Warcraft universe are a soon to be playable class that has existed for some time and thus has been requested as a playable 'hero' class since the inception of the Death Knight from Wrath of the Lich King. The very first Demon Hunter of Azeroth was Illidan Stormrage, who gained the title at the time of the War of the Ancients when he first vowed to eradicate the Burning Legion.
During the War of the Ancients Illidan Stormrage was a member
of the Highborn, who were the mages of the Night Elf society (basically a whole social class of their own)during the events of the war. During his time in the Hihgborn Illidan was able to 'meet' Sargeras in a way... not really, just communicated through mental speech, anway. Illidan offered the dark Titan a relic called the Dragon Soul, which he liked very very much, giving Illidan the gift of a new type of vision that gave him the ability to see magic and demons wherevery they were.

The process of attaining this new sight forced Illidan to witness the destruction of countless worlds the Legion invaded, conquered, and eventually either destroyed or made a permanent presence on. This led Ilidan to the truth that the Legion is truly vast and an ever omnipotent danger that will always threaten life and Azeroth itself if not dismantled entirely. With his new found sight, which came along with all sorts of new powers aswell, Illidan set out to continue his work in disrupting the goals of Azshara and the Burning Legion tearing his world asunder from the inside.

I already went over a lot of most of Illidans story in my Article I posted about him recently, so if you want to know more about him go check that out. Illidans story was just so impactful to the overall Demon Hunter image and personality (being the first one and all...) So I felt it necessary to talk about him before moving on to the other
details.

The two races that have the ability to become Demon Hunters are Blood Elves and Night Elves. Although in the lore the Demon Hunters are described as a class that any race can achieve, we will only be playing as Demon Hunters who were trained and under the employ of Illidan Stormrage Himself, since he only trained Night Elves and Blood Elves.

In the Burning Crusade expansion the Demon Hunters, the very colleagues of the characters we will be playing as are outside of the Black Temple training. Some of the named NPCs have a deep back story that I can't go into fully here, but don't worry! I will go into the story that we hear in the game. (quests from Altruis here are source of info)

Veradis was one of five possible aspirants sent to Illidan by Kael'thas, Illidan had promised to attempted to train these blood elves in exchange for his years of loyal service. Three out of the five elves simply died from the intense training Illidan had put them through, one went mad, and the other passed through unscathed. Illidan saw so much potential in this one Elf, Veredis, that he decided to make him his personal protege. The amount of control that Veredis managed to maintain over his own powers was startling and would obviously make him a prime Demon Hunter.

Alandien is the only known female Demon Hunter (prior to Legion that is) and, like the other two named night elf Demon Hunters in this article, she trained Veredis (the one shown above) until he surpassed her in skill and prowess.

These two honestly don't have too much story or any lore really so I wont go into too much detail about them.

The three Night Elfs listed above are the trainers for the new initiates. And that is really all they do... Other than being the objectives in a kill quest or two but thats really not all that much...

Now I'll get into some of the more Role-playish aspects of this upcoming hero class. The death knights have given up everything they are, life, love, humanity, and exchanged it all for a thirst of insane amounts of fel magical power, they do this for a good reason of course. Demon Hunters are power hungry and are often looked upon with estranged and frightened eyes because of their ability to consume demonic energies as if it were nutrition. They live this lifestyle because Demon Hunters want for only one thing, the absolute eradication and dismantlement of the Burning Legion, simply put: if the Demon Hunter pursued their craft for the purpose of attaining power to wield over others then they would have just out right joined the Burning Legion in the first place, and believe me many of them have throughout the lore....
Chances are if you are reading this then you wouldn't mind a spoiler or two... So if that is so then I would suggest you go over to Youtube and look for one of the many Demon Hunter starting zone videos... I personally suggest Nobbel since he's just awesome with lore and stuff anyway, and that was the one that I watched. After watching that you should get a good Idea on what kind of Backstory you could give you character if you are a role-player. The possibilities are endless here and honestly I'm elated to see the stuff were getting in this expac... Well as always, I hope you enjoyed reading this, and that you have a nice day.

Story of Illidan Stormrage

The story of Illidan Stormrage

Written by: Lorebound....Not originally I mean, just explaining/retelling here for you :)

Greetings to the inquisitive!

Illidan Stormrage has had plenty of notable moments in the lore, for example; being the first Demon Hunter, betraying Sargeras(hence the 'betrayer' title), and creating the second well of eternity to name a few. So relax if you feel like you might need to catch up at all. I have all the little details that you might need to know right here. So just scroll down to learn more about Illidan Stormrage.
Illidan's story begins with Azshara the Queen of the Night elf's, and lord Xavius her trusted advisor. Illidan is approaching them proclaiming his devotion to their cause, which was to bring the dark titan Sargeras into this world by allowing him to use the Well of Eternity to enter in his true and terrible form. This was not Illidans true intention however, he was actually just planning on obtaining the demon soul from Deathwing to ensure the wells continuation regardless of outcome in this 'war of the ancients' that was happening at the time. He of course offered to capture the demon soul for Sargeras, which the dark Titan caught wind of and enjoyed very, very much.

So much in fact that Sargeras told Illidan to look real close at that fire extinguisher....

Okay it wasn't really like that... Sargeras actually did like what Illidan had offered to do for him, and instead told Illidan to look into the well of eternity, which then caused two glowing green tendrils of fel magical energy to seep into Illidans eyes, burning them out and installing new glowing orbs in place of what was there. This allowed Illidan to see any form of magic, and it has been heard from him that his sight has never been clearer. So he must be pretty cool with it... I think.

It was certainly better than the sight he previously possessed, moving forward..

There is little action in the timeline of Illidan Stormrage after the War of the Ancients, because he was locked up by the Wardens for ten thousdand years for the little stint he pulled in the employ of the Burning Legion. (He betrayed his people, forever dubbing him 'The Betrayer.')This was a torturous time for Illidan who, the whole time, was locked in a cell to experience and be conscious for every second of his long eternal imprisonment... This is probably very hard for you to internalize, because we as humans cannot live past a certain point, our cells just die out too quick.
His release was never actually planned, but it happened when the burning legion again threatened Azeroth, this time though they came with a different army than their own...The undead Scourge.

I'll go into the specifics of all this in a later article, I technically have to since the undead and the scourge in general are one of my favorite parts of the Warcraft lore..

Illidan was released from his prison by Tyrande Whisperwind, who was a love interest of both Illidan and his brother Malfurion and this inevitably led to some tension between the brothers, anyway Illidans powers as a Demon Hunter would be more than useful in any fight involving the burning legion and Tyrande knew this, so she released him and set him on the path of redeeming himself and battling the legion at the same time. Malfurion did not like this at all but thats not really important int this article..
This time the Legion and Illidan would be facing off in the newly corrupted area of Felwood, where the Skull of Gul'dan was, and also Arthas, who was at this time a full on servant of the Lich King. Illlidan and Arthas were equally matched, and could not best each other, withdrawing from the fight quickly, Illidan asked Arthas his reasons for tracking him. Arthas revealed that the Skull of Gul'dan was the demonic artifact that was corrupting the forest, and that Illidan should go get and either destroy it or keep it for himself embracing the power of the artifact for himself.

Skipping over several points in the story.. Illidan found the skull killed all the demons he could find and even saved the area from corruption..or so he thought.. I mean why is the area still called Felwood if it isn't still corrupted? He did say that in time the forests will heal, so maybe that just hasn't happened yet.. Anyway this article is about Illidan not Felwood (If you want me to talk about that, just ask :D) So I'll try to stay on track here..

Malfurion and Tyrande found out about how Illidan absorbed the powers of the Skull instead of just destroying it like any other night elf would of. They banished him for this, and this is where Illlidan starts making his own moves, making an army from Kael'thas and his blood elfs, Akama and the Ashtounge Deathsworm who followed him, and the Naga under Lady Vashj. This army was formed so Illidan could evade and fight against the legion mostly, but since Kil'jaeden still had his eyes on Illidan he could not just escape his fate of serving them. Kil'jaeden gave Illidan the task of going to the frozen throne and destroying Ner'zhul the Lich King who has become far too powerful for Kil'Jaeden himself to control. Wishing to look as servile as possible to his looming masters which watched him and saw his every move.

Akama

 Kael'thas Sunstrider

The objective of destroying the Lich King proved too much for Illidan to complete, Arthas once again met Illidan on the field of battle and beat the betrayer fair and square... Illidan messed up big time and now fully dedicated himself and any who choose to follow him to eradicating the burning legion.... Something which no one has ever been able to do in the history of existence.

                                http://chickennoob.deviantart.com/art/A-Illidan-vs-Arthas-57232418

That is where the Burning Crusade expansion for world of Warcraft brought us, Illidan had fled to outland and made himself ruler, imprisoning the pit lord Magtheridon and in the process ripping the floating remnants of a planet straight from the clutches of a destructive Burning Legion. We went across the Dark Portal over to the desolate remains of Draenor to stop the burning legion, and only found ourselves with a whole other enemy that had actually originated from Azeroth...

We defeat Illidan in the battle for the Black Temple and after that Maiv takes the Demon Hunter back to his prison with the wardens, resuming an eternity of agonizing and utterly boring imprisonment. Until Gul'dan (from AU Draenor) comes over and frees the demon hunter, which doesnt really make any sense and I really cannot wait to find out what all this is going to lead too.. Well that was it, I hope you liked it :D

The void lords, and why they are so much more dangerous than the Burning Legion

The void Lords

The void lords of the Warcraft Universe have only recently been introduced as a concept via the World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1 novel by Blizzard Entertainment, but the way they are described Makes me think that they are, and have always been, the most formidable and dangerous force the cosmos has ever known. The Burning Legion kind of happened, to try to stop these guys from eating everything in existence. An example of their direct influence on Azeroth would be the infamous old god infestation that even almost got the planet 're-originated' or however Algalon put it. The old gods were originally minor manifestations of the Void lords, sent to scour the universe for nascent world souls to corrupt. The void lords themselves were limited in their ability to effect the physical universe and thus sent these horrific old gods to do their bidding in the farthest reaches of existence.

Why the void lords are a bigger problem than the Burning Legion:

The ultimate goal of the void lords is to consume all things that exist, I'm not kidding. Its very simple but infinity terrifying all the same, these immense beings who are, by the way, so powerful and immense in size that in order to manifest into full form in the  physical universe, where Azeroth is, they would have to consume all the matter and energy of entire solar systems just to maintain a presence. This, it seems, is the goal of these guys. Now when I say they want to eat everything I do mean everything, including Sargeras all of the demons and the twisting nether itself..... So where the demons just wanna blow everything up, the void lords want to eat it all....

I'm not trying to defend the burning legion or anything. But I think the void is something that is a little more formidable than anything from the legion that we've seen. I think the only thing I could compare a Void God to in real life is a Black Hole right here on earth....

So what do you think? Am I just kinda blowing smoke? Or is the Warcraft universes' main villain been something we haven't even known exists yet?

Story of the Broken Isles, both before and after Legion.

So the broken Isles are the new lands we are being flung into for Legion. The story for this place is kind of interesting since it definitely has had an impact on the lore already. Just to help you avoid any confusion or panic, I already explained everything you need to know right here, just scroll on down below.

So the reason we find ourselves heading these islands' way is because the Burning Legion is staging its third invasion of Azeroth from here. This is because Gul'dan (the one from AU Draenor, not our Gul'dan who died attempting to do the same thing in our timeline) went to the Tomb of Sargeras that the original him raised from the depths all those years ago during the second war, anyway he effectively finished the job old him couldn't I guess you could say. And now an ominous looking green portal now hovers over the old stone spire which marks the tomb itself.

So the reason why any legion related stuff would be happening here at all now is because ages ago when Magna Aegwynn was the guardian of Tirisfal, who was the humans' protector from the demonic forces of the burning legion during a time when few people understood what that even was, defeated the Avatar of Sargeras when it had manifested itself directly onto Azeroth. The guardian was a role that meant you were empowered way beyond the normal spell caster, so as to be as prepared as anyone possibly can be when tasked with facing against such an omnipotent and destructive force. This mean that sniffing out the Avatar was easy enough, and Aegwynn eventually was set to believe she had defeated him and so looked for a safe place to hide the dark titan's body.

She choose the sunken remains of an ancient night elf temple of Elune, which was blessed and protected by enchantments which were aimed specifically at keeping any Azerothian life form away, which is why Gul'dan is able to enter the place without much harm in the first place.
There is a lot more to that story, but i only covered the parts that were necessary for you to understand why it is being used in the Legion Expansion.

The Pillars of Creation:

The Pillars of Creation were actually named after the very same pillars that you see to the right.

These things are titan creations that they used in their ordering of the planet, I'm assuming you can take the name quiet litteraly when trying to think of their specific functionality, its probably just best to describe them as those tools that the titans just could not work without. What is known is that there is one in each zone, and that they have been used in the past to shut the portals that were opened by magic or otherwise, meaning that we may use them again for the same purpose. But we still have to watch out since the Legion appears to have a different goal in mind for these titan relics, probably having something to do with making the portal that the legion is using even better or bigger. Only time will tell.

Suramar City:

This place is very big in the lore, huge even. During the War of the Ancients the burning legion and the night elven resistance would fight over the area that surrounded the original well of eternity, which the demons were pouring from in the first place, and Suramar shared a portion of this area with the capital of the ancient night elven empire. There was even an interesting experiment conducted by the demons on the population of this city, which had to do with creating an undead army, this experiment no doubt set the groundwork for the scourge which wouldn't appear until 10,000 years later.

But in this expansion we find out that what actually happened was when the sundering hit and the rest of Azeroth went flying everywhere the highborne actually crated a magical barrier to protect the city from the outside world and the chaos that likely ensued.

For ten thousand years the Nightborne have been living in Suramar, with a magical font called the 'nightwell,' these Nightborne are dependent upon the energy from the font, and were at one time the Night elves who inhabited the city before the sundering. When the city ran out of food its people just started using the Nightwells energy as sustenance, eliminating the fear of death, but turning them into something else at the same time.

The leader of the Nightborne people, Grand Magistrix Elisande, has decided to work with Gul'dan, giving away her people to the legion and its darkness.

Origin of the Burning Legion

As always, the information I present to you is gleamed from the following:
Over eight years of playing the game, being very attentive to lore and detail every minute of the way.
reading from several of the Warcraft Novels.
Last and certainly a rare one that I will avoid using if at all possible; the numerous different somethingpedia sites that all seem to give slightly different explanations or reasons for things. Not saying they're bad sources, just a little shaky at times.

Lorebound is proud to present you with the Origin of the Burning Legion, the faction that will serve as the primary antagonist for the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion; Legion.

So in order for you to understand the origin story of the Burning Legion, there is a few things you need to have a basic understanding of first. They are;The Void Lords, The titans, the twisting nether & the demons from there, and Sargeras.

The Void Lords:

There is little information on these entities, but it is known that they inhabit a place called the void, which is outside of the boundaries of the physical universe. We do know that the void lords have been watching the Titan pantheon since the moment reality came to be. They have but one purpose, and that is to consume everything there is, and they will stop at nothing until that goal is achieved. Luckily for us in the physical reality, only the most powerful of them may even have a chance to manifest themselves here, and when doing so a massive amount of matter and energy is needed to maintain its own existence. One more thing we know is that the infamous old gods that have caused endless amounts of trouble for Azeroth throughout most of its existence, were created and sent by the void lords to help in preparing the universe for the eventual end that they will never stop trying to achieve.
For more information on Void Lords: http://wow.gamepedia.com/Void_lord

The Titan pantheon:

The pantheon is a group of titans, who are gigantic in size and almost limitless in power. They, to put it simply, help in the creation of worlds by altering their course of evolution during a planets primordial stages. The worlds the Titans create represent order in the universe and are a constant target of the Demons, which are explained next.

For more information regarding the Titans: http://wow.gamepedia.com/Titan

The demons of the Twisting Nether:

The demons who inhabit the twisting nether are dangerously powerful and malevolent entities who seek only to destroy everything that the titans have worked to achieve, I.e. completely eliminating any and all life from existence, and remaking all of creation into a desolate mass of constantly changing and destructive energies.

The twisting nether is a plane in the Warcraft universe existing with, but not in the same way as the physical. Its pretty hard to understand (even harder to explain) and basically the only thing you really need to know is that it is a place filled with magic and it is also the place where a demons physical form is no matter what. This is why you cannot actually kill a demon in the physical plane, but must first kill his physical body and then find him in the Nether to finish the job correctly.

For more information regarding the twisting nether :  http://wow.gamepedia.com/Twisting_Nether
And the demons who call the place home: http://wow.gamepedia.com/Demon

And finally there's Sargeras, warrior, and chief protector of the Titans' creations throughout the cosmos.

   Before corruption

Sargeras was at one time the one among the titans who was charged with protecting the planets the titans created, which brought him in very close proximity to corrupting energies which the demons used frequently to corrupt the denizens of planets they wanted to conquer. The demons manipulated mortals into unthinking hatred and mistrust, causing whole nations to war with one another to the point of near devastation, making a planet weaker and less likely to defend against an attack by the very demons that corrupted it from the shadows.

After Corruption

Depravity and darkness were everywhere, and Sargeras was beginning to think that it was a vain goal to fight these things. Sargeras was even starting to believe that the only way the universe could hope be safe was to remain as it was, when there was no semblance of order or life at all. The other titans of the Pantheon attempted make their brother see reason before committing himself to reversing all their work, but the soon-to-be dark titan just stormed away from them, convinced they were never going to see the truth that Sargeras not only saw with his own eyes, but slowly fell victim to.

For more information regarding Sargeras: http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Sargeras

Mardum:

The world of Mardum was a prison created by Sargeras to house the physical forms of any demons he encountered. This ensured that the demons would never be able to manifest anywhere else when returning from the twisting nether to reclaim their physical form. It had become quiet full of demons in all the time that Sargeras used it for its intended purpose. However when Sargeras defected from the pantheon and made it his goal to scour reality of the titans influence, he realized an army would be needed. He looked no farther than the world he kept every one of the vile things he had once battled and been mortal enemies with. He split the planet in half, causing an immense explosion of fel energy, which also directly hit Sargeras causing him to now look hideously deformed. The explosion also created a gateway to the twisting nether, from which an endless horde of demons poured through into the cosmos, ensuring Sargeras got the army he needed.
For more information on Mardum: http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Mardum,_the_Shattered_Abyss

Sargeras' Final confrontation with the Pantheon:

Sargeras had all that he needed to see to the destruction of everything, so he sought to test his new Legion on a planet that was ordered by the Titans themselves. His forces quickly overwhelmed whatever opposition there was on the planet, which was called Nihilam. The pantheon eventually caught wind of this and called for a meeting with their former brother, whom they still wanted to believe could have a good soul. Attempting to get Sargeras to see reason, they told him of a planet named Azeroth that has a world soul sure to be powerful enough to face the full might of the Void Lords. But utterly convinced that he was doing the right thing and that his former fellows simply would never realize it, he killed them. It was a very long and costly battle, which the pantheon lost. Sargeras wanted now to truly make his new and somewhat inexperienced Burning Legion more formidable and terrifying than ever, and so went about recruiting a new and capable race to help him in this.

Netherwing Dragons

Lorebounds Library is proud to present you with this written explanation of the story of the Netherwing Dragons in the World of Warcraft universe

The Netherwing Dragons

These dragons exist primarily on the questionably habitable world of Draenor, which was destroyed by Ner'zhul when he had opened several hundred different portals all across the planet, injecting magical energy into the ley lines of the world at such immense amounts that the planet literally started to rip and tear, it's continents were ejected into the twisting nether with such a ruinous force. What remains today are nothing more than the floating remnants of what once was.

                   Before:

This is the map of Draenor as seen in WoD.

                                         After:

What we saw in Burning Crusade.

 http://obsti.deviantart.com/art/Deathwing-wants-YOU-188439537

However before the planet was destroyed, it was noticed and thought of as a potential safe haven that his flight could control and prosper without the worry of any impediment in that goal. As the story goes, Deathwing hid away cache's of his black Dragon Eggs, which would spawn the intended army needed to conquer and control a whole planet. He also intended to find a safer place for his dragons to live without fear of the constant threat from those who sought to end his flight and their evil schemings. Hunters from both the many mortal races and the other dragon-flights themselves were always a threat to Deathwing and his entire flight.

Deathwing made his perch in Blades Edge mountains, which was also where another formidable force lived, although Gruul and his gronn were native to the planet and saw themselves as defending their home when attacking all of the black dragons that were in the mountains, along with Deathwing, who was understandably pretty pissed off as the ginormous dumb brute were mercilessly killing his kids and destroying his eggs, killing the unborn drakes inside.

Deathwing decided he'd end the battle by attacking Gruul outright, landing on the massive gronns back from the air and victimizing the massive creature like a . Khadgar, who was there with the Alliance expedition to help the gronn of Blades Edge in their fight against the dragons, placed a particular spell that dislodged the Adamantium plates which were holding the dragons unstable body together. Eventually the battle was won by the gronn and their allies in the Alliance Expedition. Having gotten what they came for, the skull of Gul'dan which was in Deathwings possession, they left Blades edge.

                                                                                                                             http://wowdragons.deviantart.com/art/Nether-Whelp-77178801

Whatever dragon eggs Deathwing had brought to the world were believed destroyed at this point, and there would be no evidance to prove otherwise until after the Netherwing Dragons awoke, alone and confused on a partially destroyed but still brutally savage world, where resources were scarce and survival an almost endless struggle.

Its not quiet known how the first of the Netherwing came to survive in an environment that basically guaranteed the opposite. However, there was a group of netherwing dragons that survived because the Dragonmaw Clan, an orc clan from Shadowmoon Valley, subjugated them after finding them wandering and alone, with no one to protect them......

Random Fact:
Netherwing Whelps are cute vicious little beasts with a kind and gentle soul, really...I think.
see:
http://www.warcraftpets.com/wow-pets/dragonkin/dragon-whelps/netherwhelp/
for in game details.

In the Burning Crusade expansion we got access to a painfully long quest line that involved us helping the Netherwing in Shadowmoon Valley by infiltrating the Shadowmoon orc Clan and hurting them from within. We don't actually get to dismantle or destroy the clan, we just help the Netherwing being held in captivity by taking the role of an undercover agent, secreting away eggs from the rest of the clan, spoiling the food supply, beating the peons to death..I mean that litteraly.. And the best part is; we get an awesome ad positively epic flying mount that still requires a very tedious and extremely time consuming grind, but it is undoubtedly worth it.

There isn't anything that I've found detailing what happened to the Netherwing after TBC, but I found the Dragonmaw Clan in the Twilight Highlands, hearing from one of the NPCs there that they crossed over to Azeroth and began life anew, leaving behind Shadowmoon Valley. No refrence was made to the Netherwing that I found. This can only mean that the dragons are just having a grand ole time there by themselves with no one else to push them around or subjugate them. And as a side note, killing the clan leader was something I REALLY wanted to do during the Netherwing Quest line back then, and not being able to just kinda sucked. But its alright, cause I was able to finish the job for good in Twilight Highlands, freeing the Dragonmaw orcs from the bloodlust they had been under since the years of the First War on Azeroth in the process.

Thank you for reading this, I hope you learned something and have a nice day!
